In my assessment, the Switch-it Remote Seating App provides a practical tool for measuring and tracking seating-angle duration to support pressure management in wheelchair users. It uses Bluetooth to communicate with a tracking device embedded in the chair. The app generates reports that identify key seating angles—tilt, recline, and leg elevation—and the time spent in each position. Reports can be shared via email with therapists and physicians at the user's discretion. The information can inform the development of personalised pressure-relief plans and can trigger alerts prompting the user to adjust their seating. Overall, the app represents a usable addition to a pressure-management workflow, with potential to improve adherence to prescribed strategies.
